Membership provides a whole range of benefits:

  • Journal - a quality bi-monthly magazine that is sent free to all members. It includes reviews, society news, layouts, letters, photographs and articles all exclusively about N gauge. Members private sales and wants are printed free of charge.

  • For an introductory pack (including a Journal) please send a cheque or money order payable to N Gauge Society for £1.50 (£2.50 overseas) to
    N Gauge Society (Dept.W), 17 Toll Bar Road, Christleton, Chester CH3 5QU.

  • Society shop - the Society runs a mail order shop for supplying not only its own kits, transfers and products, but those difficult to find bits and pieces, all at competitive prices. Second-hand equipment when available.

  • Exclusive kits - the Society produces a range of exclusive and unique wagon kits. Currently there are more than twenty-five different ones with plans to extend the range. Members can buy the kits from the Society's mail order shop or directly from the Society Stand that attends major Model Railway Exhibitions around the UK.

  • Modelmaster Transfers - the Society markets a wide range of exclusive transfers for wagons, coaches and locomotives. See the list of available transfers in the Society shop

  • Library - operated by post includes books and videos

  • Area Groups - the Society has a national network of local area groups which provide the opportunity to meet, discuss N Gauge and general railway matters. Group activities are varied. Beginners can often find help here.

  • Handbook - this 200+ page publication is delivered free to new members as part of the joining package.

  • Society Services - the Society provides a range of other services for its members. These include a postal Help Line (for modelling queries) and Indexes about dealers and layouts.

  • Annual General Meeting - the opportunity to have a formal say in Society business and elect the management committee. Before the AGM you can meet fellow enthusiasts, enter the Society's Annual Model Making Competition and visit the associated model railway exhibition which is open prior to the meeting.
