Pensarn Gallery

Upon rediscovering model railways after a break from 00, Robin Owen Griffiths took up the challenge to build a layout covered in snow. Pensarn is the result. Robin had a lack of space to build a layout and had the idea of building a layout on a dustbin lid! The final layout is actually on a cutup door, but is built to the dimensions of the original lid - 24inches diameter.

The layout is named in memory of Robin's grandfather, Tom Owen, who worked on the railways for 58 years at Pensarn.

The snow is created using white crafters acrylic paint, Woodland Scenics soft flake snow and plaster of paris. Frost was created by sprinkling holographic embossing powder over the layout.
