The N Gauge Society - UK and Worldwide N Gauge
Welcome to the N Gauge Society (often referred to as the NGS) website. The NGS is a non-profit making organisation, run by volunteers for the benefit of the railway modelling hobby in general and N Gauge modellers in particular. We have several thousand members in the UK and abroad, and actively welcome new members, whatever their current skill levels.
The NGS was formed in 1967 by a small group of N Gauge modellers from West Yorkshire, supported by the late Sydney Pritchard, the founder of the present day Peco Railway Models.
The NGS's aims are to promote N Gauge and encourage active participation in N Gauge railway modelling.

First Drawing of Forthcoming CarFlat
Bachmann have sent the NGS the first CAD drawings of the forthcoming Carflat, our next RTR model.
Carflats saw regular use from the mid 1950s; they are essentially coach chassis with the bodies removed - for both motoring holidays and to distribute new built cars for auto manufacturers.
The version we are doing represents one of a batch of around 50 built in the early 1960s on former BR Mk1 chassis, and largely associated with the famous Motorail brand launched exactly 50 years ago in 1966.
The CAD drawings shown are a "conglomerate" showing various details including vacuum and air brakes, buffing plates, Motorail branding plates and BR1 bogies or B4 bogies. Many of these details are model specific and will not be present on all types.
The model is available to pre-order now at www.ngsjoin.com, and should be delivered in Q3 2017.
See here for further information.
50th Anniversary Celebration in 2017
Very unfortunately, with great regret, and due to circumstances beyond the Committee's control, it has been decided not to proceed with the proposed 50th Anniversary Exhibition Event. Please read the Chairman's Update section in Newsletter 2/17, together with the Secretary's Reports, for a full explanation.
Although there will be no special 50th exhibition, there are still a number of anniversary projects being progressed, or already completed, for the benefit of members. These include:
The Hunslet 0-6-0 Shunter which will be the first RTR motive power product from the NGS (see Journals and News;letters 1/17 and 2/17, and here).
A Carflat-A RTR bogie car carrier wagon for which the development is progressing well.
It is hoped to release kit 54A, KSA 'cube' wagon, and 55, post 1975 KFA Warflat bogie wagon, this year (see Journal 2/17).
Special Private Owner wagons, tailored to Area Groups requirements, are being produced.
A special anniversary souvenir booklet was issued to members with Journal 6/16.
